Billy Strings, Anders Beck & Lindsay Lou Among Leftover Salmon’s Guests In Nashville
Watch highlights from a guest-filled night at the Station Inn.
Leftover Salmon kicked off a two-night stand at the intimate confines of The Station Inn in Nashville on Tuesday with help from special guests Billy Strings, Anders Beck, Lindsay Lou and Kyle Tuttle. The band performed in front of 170 lucky fans and a global audience via a Volume.com livestream.
The jamgrass act went at it alone to start the show with a run that included a cover of Lionel Hampton’s “Ridin’ On The L & N” as well as originals “Gold Hill Line” and “Better Way.” Strings emerged later in the first set with guitar in hand for The Stanley Brothers’ “If I Lose.” Billy stuck around to add to the set-closing sequence of “Down In The Hollow,” “Troubled Times,” “Aquatic Hitchhiker” and “Blue & Lonesome.”
Leftover Salmon opened their second set in Nashville with Drew Emmitt’s “Get Me Outta This City” and then played the Grateful Dead’s “Black Peter.” While Tuesday was Emmitt’s birthday, it was also Bob Dylan’s birthday and LoS honored Dylan with a cover of “Simple Twist Of Fate.” Then, Greensky Bluegrass dobroist Anders Beck came out for the pairing of “Breakin’ Thru” and “Carolina Song.”
The band continued the closing frame with “Southern Belle” and “The Hobo Song” before Lindsay Lou and Kyle Tuttle joined for takes on Joe Tex’s “Hold What You Got” and Lucinda Williams’ “Lines Around Your Eyes.” Leftover Salmon capped the night sans guests with “Dear Old Dixie.” Tonight’s concert can be viewed through Volume.com starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
