Kyle Hollingsworth Covers Little Feat With moe. In Asheville

Jam stalwarts moe. and The String Cheese Incident have a long history together that dates back to both artists’ participation in 1999’s Summer Sessions tour. Members of the two acts crossed paths once again last night in Asheville, where SCI keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth sat in with moe. at New Mountain Asheville.

Hollingsworth was on hand for a support set from his Kyle Hollingsworth Band ensemble. The keyboardist emerged towards the end of moe.’s lone, extended set for a cover of Little Feat’s “Willin'” and original “Blue Jeans Pizza.” The upstate New York band debuted “Willin'” on November 19, 1997 and have covered it sporadically ever since with last night marking moe’s 12th rendition of Lowell George’s signature song. Unlike Kyle’s sit-in on “Blue Jeans Pizza” at The Fillmore in 2010, Hollingsworth did wear his cow costume (see photo above) this time around.

Both moe. & Kyle’s band perform today at SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta.

Watch moe. welcome Hollingsworth for “Happy Hour Hero” at Summer Camp ’11:
