After appearing at the Blue Ox Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Saturday, Kurt Vile & The Violators traversed over to St. Paul, Minnesota, for a concert Sunday at the Palace Theatre. Minnesota native Alan Sparhawk was recruited by frontman Kurt Vile to sit in on the set opening “Chance To Bleed.”

Sparhawk, who formed Low with his late wife Mimi Parker in Duluth in 1993, was on site Sunday to open the concert with The Wandering Eye. The Ween tribute band features Sparhawk alongside Tim Saxhaug, Marc Gartman, Dan Anderson and Tyler Dubla.

Vile introduced Sparhawk to the Palace Theatre audience at the start of his headlining set. The band then kicked into “Chance To Bleed” from Vile’s recently released studio album, Philadelphia’s been good to me. The catchy tune was one of the singles issued ahead of the record’s arrival in May via Verve Records.

Check out how the Vile/Sparhawk crossover came out via audio and video from the Palace:
