Kitchen Dwellers took the stage at the Northlands Festival on Saturday in Swanzey, New Hampshire. The string band welcomed guitarist Daniel Donato and keyboardist Holly Bowling for the Little Feat favorite “Dixie Chicken” and more.
Kitchen Dwellers — banjo player Torrin Daniels, mandolinist Shawn Swain, guitarist Max Davies and bassist Joe Funk — launched their Northlands set with “Woods Lake” off their 2019 album, Muir Maid. The band then stretched out a bit on a pair of tracks from 2017’s Ghost in the Bottle, “The Crown” and “Guilty.”

Kitchen Dwellers then got into new material, performing “Letterbound” followed by “Wind Bitten,” the latter off their 2024 LP, Seven Devils. The string quartet then welcomed Daniel Donato and Holly Bowling for a cover of the Little Feat classic “Dixie Chicken.” Bowling laid down boogie-woogie piano while Donato unleashed some serious twang on guitar for the title track to the legendary band’s 1972 LP.
Bowling and Donato also stuck around for Seven Devils cut “Unwind.” Watch both performances below:
