King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Honors Malcolm Young With AC/DC Cover

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are currently staging Gizzfest in various cities across their native Australia. A recent performance saw the band honor Malcolm Young, the late co-founding member of AC/DC, by covering a classic song by the legendary Australian rockers.

The influential guitarist and songwriter for the massively successful hard rock band, Young passed away on Saturday, November 18 at the age of 64. The following evening in Byron Bay during the second night of Gizzfest, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard offered a “loose cover” of the AC/DC favorite “Let There Be Rock.” The title track to the group’s 1977 album was co-written by Malcolm, his brother Angus Young and AC/DC’s late original frontman Bon Scott.
