Tokyo-based Kikagaku Moyo (幾何学模様) will release their fourth studio album, Masana Temples, on October 5 through Guruguru Brain. The Japanese psychedelic rockers shared the record’s lead single “Dripping Sun” and fellow album track “Gathering.”
In April, Kikagaku Moyo traveled to Valentim de Carvalho studio in Lisbon, Portugal to hold recording sessions with producer Bruno Pernadas. NPR Music shared “Dripping Sun,” one of the 10 tracks on the new LP.
“This is a day trip song,” drummer Go Kurosawa told NPR about the single. “Get up, ride on a horse, take a walk, explore, and go back to your place and sleep. Often within the trip, you will find something that makes you feel nostalgic, something that brings back memories of the past and no matter how crazy the journey is, we always come back to where we were or where we belong and we feel calm. That was the idea of song when I wrote it.”
