Kelsey Waldon joined forces with Margo Price for a new single, “Traveling the Highway Home.” Waldon’s take on the country/bluegrass standard will land on her upcoming album, There’s Always A Song, due out on May 10 via Oh Boy Records/Thirty Tigers.
There’s Always A Song finds Waldon diving into “the earliest pages of the country and bluegrass music songbooks,” as per a press release. The singer-songwriter heralded the album with a cover of the bluegrass classic, “Uncle Pen”, featuring Amanda Shires on fiddle. The record also sees guest turns from S.G. Goodman and Isaac Gibson of 49 Winchester.

For “Traveling the Highway Home,” Kelsey enlisted her longtime friend Margo Price to sing on the track.
“It is so special to have my friend, the force that is Margo Price, singing this song with me,” Waldon said. “We have both come such a long way since the earliest days of our friendship, and it’s been a wild ride and there’s still so many more memories to go. Who knows more about ‘Travelin’ the Highway Home’ than us? She is my fellow road dog and partner in crime. I’m very grateful she lended some vocals to this song. Life is too short to not make music, travel, and get through it all with your friends.”
