Julian Casablancas Covers Velvet Underground For ‘Vinyl’ Soundtrack

Each Friday, Atlantic/Warner Brothers will issue an EP to accompany that weekend’s episode of the HBO rock-flavored series Vinyl. This week’s EP contains five songs including Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas’ take on the Velvet Underground classic “Run Run Run.”

The original version of “Run Run Run” was released by VU on their debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico. Casablancas and his band do the song justice thanks to a raw and gritty edge to the cover. Take a listen:
