John Mayer Shares Solo Acoustic ‘Last Train Home’
The guitarist previewed his upcoming solo album, ‘Sob Rock.’

Guitarist John Mayer released a video featuring a solo acoustic version of “Last Train Home.” The song is the lead single from Mayer’s Sob Rock album which arrives through Columbia Records on July 16.
John Mayer co-produced the 10-track follow-up to 2017’s The Search For Everything with Don Was. “Last Train Home” opens the LP and includes contributions from keyboardist Greg Phillinganes, percussionist Lenny Castro and vocalist Maren Morris.

“I decided to take the new song for a spin on acoustic guitar,” Mayer wrote in a note accompanying the solo acoustic “Last Train Home” video. “I can’t thank you enough for embracing this track the way you have. It makes me even more excited for you to hear the album.”
