John Mayer & Chris Stapleton Debut New Song In Nashville

John Mayer’s concert last night at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena featured Chris Stapleton sitting-in. The collaboration included the performance of a new song that was co-written by Mayer and Stapleton the day before the concert.
Mayer explained to the audience that after Stapleton agreed to the sit-in, the pair discussed what song to play. Stapleton suggested they write a new song and Mayer accepted the challenge. Mayer got to town on Wednesday and he and Stapleton met a recording studio and came up with “I Just Remembered That I Didn’t Care,” which they debuted together at Thursday’s concert.
After the debut, guitarist David Ryan Harris played a solo cover of Prince’s “The Beautiful Ones.” Mayer, Stapleton and the full band then performed “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room.” Watch footage of the collaboration shared by Catherine Spear below:
