Bob Weir & Sammy Hagar Join John Mayer In San Francisco

John Mayer was joined on stage last night by his Dead & Company band mate Bob Weir and Sammy Hagar during a concert at San Francisco’s new Chase Center. Mayer, Weir and Hagar covered the Grateful Dead’s “Fire On The Mountain.”
Mayer’s first set hinted at the Dead that was to come when he injected “China Cat Sunflower” into the start of “Something Like Olivia.” The second set began with Mayer’s typical solo acoustic segment that included “Emoji Of A Wave,” “Daughters” and with David Ryan Harris Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’.” A few songs later saw the emergence of Weir, who joined Mayer and his band on “Queen Of California.” Mayer and Weir then led a segue into “Fire On The Mountain” as Hagar came out to help sing the Dead classic.
After the guests exited, Mayer and his band delivered a few more songs, closing the set with “Gravity.” They returned to encore with “Born and Raised” and “New Light.” Watch audience-shot video of last night’s collaboration via Roman Gokhman below:
