Singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell staged a concert Wednesday night at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Acclaimed actor and accomplished musician John C. Reilly joined Ferrell during her set, coming onstage to help sing a couple of covers.
Ferrell is touring in support of her excellent new album, Trail Of Flowers, which recently debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists, Heatseekers and Tastemakers charts. Wednesday’s concert began with an opening set by another similarly talented (and similarly named) musician as Sierra Hull kicked off the evening’s programming.

Ferrell’s set offered several selections from Trail Of Flowers, including her playing fiddle on the single, “Fox Hunt.” Reilly, who portrayed the fictional musician Dewey Cox in the 2007 film Walk Hard and has toured with his band John Reilly and Friends, came out near the middle of Ferrell’s set.
The veteran character actor, who made an appearance with Ferrell last year, assisted on a cover of Hank Williams’ country classic “I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love With You).” Reilly stuck around for a subsequent performance of the song “Crazy Arms,” which was popularized by Ray Price.
Ferrell and her bandmates finished the main set after Reilly’s exit. The concert ended with Ferrell showcasing her take on Kris Kristofferson’s “Me & Bobby McGee.” Sierra Ferrell returns to The Fonda tonight with Sierra Hull again set to open the show.
