Watch Sierra Ferrell Make National TV Debut On ‘Kimmel’

Sierra Ferrell followed yesterday’s announcement of the upcoming release of her new album Trail Of Flowers by making her national television debut. Ferrell appeared as musical guest on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live and performed a song off her forthcoming album.

Ferrell and her band selected “Fox Hunt” for their first time on TV. The song, released last fall, is one of 12 songs making up Trail Of Flowers. The Nashville-based Ferrell recorded the album with producers Eddie Spear and Gary Paczosa at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studios.

“With Trail of Flowers, I wanted to make a fuller sound with bigger drums, but still stay true to the stripped-down feel of old-time music whenever it felt right,” Ferrell said. “I wanted to create something that makes people feel nostalgic for the past, but excited about the future of music. I’m just trying to put words and melodies together and build it into something people can pour their feelings into, all their happiness and sorrows, so that it changes their reality a little bit and gives them some comfort. To me music is like medicine. Whenever I write a song and it feels healing to me, I know it can heal other people too.”

Ferrell accompanied yesterday’s album announcement with the release of the single, “Dollar Bill Bar,” which features Nikki Lane and Kristen Rogers. Other guests making contributions to the album arriving on March 22 via Rounder Records include Lukas Nelson and Chris Scruggs.
