Jimmy Herring & The 5 of 7 Preview Debut Tour

On September 12, Widespread Panic guitarist Jimmy Herring will hit the road with his new project Jimmy Herring and The 5 of 7. A new video gives fans the first look at the band, who will be on the road through November.

Herring’s group finds him joined by bassist Kevin Scott, drummer Darren Stanley, keyboardist Matt Slocum and vocalist and guitarist Rick Lollar. “Rick, Matt, and Kevin had a band together called King Baby,” said Jimmy, “and I heard their record…I couldn’t help but think, man, if I could get together, play some of Rick’s songs, some of my songs, some covers, and maybe write a few things together, we may be on to something…”

The tour starts in Colorado with stops in Denver on September 12, Fort Collins on September 13 and Boulder on September 14. Jimmy Herring And The 5 Of 7 then hit the Midwest and Northeast over the remainder of the month. The band’s October tour schedule includes performances in Washington D.C., Richmond, Rocky Mount (Virginia), Raleigh and Charlotte. Herring and company then focus on the Southeast in November.
