Jimmy Buffett Guests With Anders Osborne In New Orleans

Over the past two nights, Anders Osborne welcomed many guests to share the stage with him at Tipitina’s in New Orleans for this year’s Holiday Spectacular shows. While nearly all of the guests at these “almost acoustic” performances were announced beforehand, there was a huge surprise in store last night.

Mr. Margaritaville himself, Jimmy Buffett, emerged towards the end of the first set to lead Anders, Dave Malone, Tommy Malone, members of AO’s band and John Gros through “Iko Iko.” Jimmy is a Christmas Baby, but that didn’t stop the frenzied crowd from wishing Buffett a happy birthday. Other guests last night included Marc Broussard and Tommy Malone. Osborne mixed a handful of originals, such as the new “Lafayette” with a batch of covers. The show came to a close with a three-song encore that featured a take on Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon” featuring Dave Malone.
