Jim James Debuts ‘All Things Must Pass’ Cover In Milwaukee

By Scott Bernstein Nov 29, 2016 1:58 pm PST

In 2009 My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James unveiled an EP filled with George Harrison covers under the pseudonym “Yim Yames.” The final track of Tribute To, which was recorded in 2001 shortly after Harrison’s death, was a tender rendition of “All Things Must Pass.” James finally unveiled a live version of the song on Sunday night.

James brought his tour in support of Eternally Even to Milwaukee’s Turner Hall Ballroom on Sunday. Jim came out for the encore with only a guitar in hand to deliver his live debut of “All Things Must Pass.” The cover was unveiled two days ahead of the anniversary of The Beatles’ guitarist’s passing. The rest of Jim James’ solo band returned after “All Things Must Pass” to end the show with “Down On The Bottom,” “Of The Mother Again” and “State Of The Art (A.E.I.O.U.).”
