Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and his family’s livestream The Tweedy Show continued on Thursday night. Streamed live on Instagram and shared by Susie Tweedy on YouTube, Episode 54 included Jeff and his sons Spencer Tweedy and Sammy Tweedy covering Nirvana and Joanna Newsom.
But before that other highlights of Episode 54 of The Tweedy Show included Jeff revealing how his hair smells like pickles and cotton candy and on a more serious note a cover of singer-songwriter Debbie Friedman’s arrangement of the Jewish healing prayer, “Mi Shebeirach,” dedicated to the people in Minneapolis protesting the murder of George Floyd.
Next, rocking his favorite shirt, a Joanna Newsom shirt, Sammy Tweedy accompanied by Jeff on guitar sang Newsom’s “This Side Of Blue” (at about 17 minutes in) from her 2004 debut album, The Milk-Eyed Mender. Sammy then leads Jeff, and Spencer on drums, through Nirvana’s “All Apologies” (just under 27 minutes in).
