Jeff Chimenti To Join Dark Star Orchestra For Two Upcoming Shows

Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra will be without their regular bassist Skip Vangelas at a pair of shows later this month. The band has recruited Jeff Chimenti of Dead & Company to play keys, while DSO keyboardist Rob Barraco will slide over to bass for the gigs.

The DSO shows featuring Barraco on bass and Chimenti on keys will take place at College Street Music Hall in New Haven on November 18 and at The Palace Theatre in Albany on November 19. Chimenti filled in with DSO for runs in 2012 and 2014, while Barraco’s bass resume also includes a run with RatDog in 2003.
