Jason Isbell‘s debut solo album Sirens Of The Ditch will be reissued by New West Records on July 13. A previously unreleased song that’s included on the deluxe edition of the updated record premiered via Noisey.
Isbell released Sirens Of The Ditch in 2007 not long after departing Drive-By Truckers. The 11-song debut LP was recorded at the historic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Co-produced by Isbell and his former DBT band mate Patterson Hood, the album features Isbell backed by DBT drummer Brad Morgan and former Drive-By Truckers bassist Shonna Tucker. Patterson Hood plays guitar on a track, while others contributing to Sirens Of The Ditch include Patterson’s father, renowned session musician David Hood, as well as Spooner Oldham, John Neff and David Barbe.
The deluxe edition of Sirens Of The Ditch expands with four previously unreleased songs. “Whisper” and “The Assassin” were recently made available, stream those bonus tracks as well as the newly issued “Crystal Clear” below:
