Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit welcomed frontman Jason Isbell‘s former Drive-By Truckers band mate Patterson Hood to share the stage on Saturday at the Under The Big Sky music festival. Hood teamed with Isbell & The 400 Unit at Big Mtn Ranch in Whitefish, Montana on their “Outfit” finale.

Isbell and his band were the final group to perform on the Great Northern Stage at the event’s first of two days. Drive-By Truckers played the same stage on Sunday.

Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit delivered a 17-song performance in Whitefish. The band went heavy on material from Reunions, their latest studio album. Isbell led the group through their recently debuted cover of R.E.M.’s “Driver 8” before bringing out Hood for the closer.

Drive-By Truckers recorded Isbell’s “Outfit” for their 2003 studio album, Decoration Day. Jason Isbell was a member of DBT from 2001 – 2007. He’s since performed a handful of times with Hood, including in 2017 when Jason paired with Patterson and Drive-By Truckers’ Mike Cooley for a special acoustic performance in Nashville following a guest spot with the band at The Ryman.
