Jason Isbell performed a live session at Seattle public radio station KEXP earlier this month. Isbell was joined by his Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit bandmate Sadler Vaden on guitar for a four-song set that has been shared on YouTube.
The pair started their session with “Only Children” and “St. Peter’s Autograph” from the 2020 Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit studio album, Reunions. Next came a cover of R.E.M.’s “Driver 8.” Isbell and his band included “Driver 8” on Georgia Blue, a charity covers album released last October that stemmed from a concept Jason proposed the previous election night.

Jason spoke with host Cheryl Waters about Georgia Blue both before and after the “Driver 8” performance. Isbell and Vadler chose “Tour Of Duty” to conclude the March 2nd set. The song was originally released on Here We Rest in 2011.
