Last night James Gang and Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh and alt-country rocker Jason Isbell held a concert in Philadelphia to coincide with the Democratic National Convention. The non-partisan event at World Cafe Live was billed as “One Hell Of A Night” and featured Isbell and his wife Amanda Shires join Walsh on one of the veteran musician’s best-known songs.

Shires and Isbell opening the evening that was hosted by the Distilled Spirits Council. Walsh and his band that featured guitarist Waddy Wachtel played a set that included the James Gang classic “Funk #49” (Isbell’s Twitter account is tagged “Folk #49”) as well as his solo hit “Life’s Been Good.” Walsh also offered up a take on his well-known original “Rocky Mountain Way” that saw Isbell sit-in on guitar and Shires add fiddle.
