While Jason Isbell has been performing regularly as part of his wife, Amanda ShiresI So Lounging daily livestream series, he hasn’t had much of an opportunity to play with his 400 Unit band since the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic led to stay-at-home orders. On Saturday, the group released a “quarantine video” that they filmed remotely for the classic “24 Frames.”

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit originally issued “24 Frames” as the lead single of their 2015 studio album, Something More Than Free. Though the album is credited to Isbell, drummer Chad Gamble, keyboardist Derry Deborja, bassist Jimbo Hart and guitarist Sadler Vaden (the members of the 400 Unit) each were among contributors to the 11-track LP. “24 Frames” has been a staple of the group’s live sets ever since.
