The Late Show With Stephen Colbert shared video of James Taylor and The Late Show Band playing “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” as part of The Late Show’s Commercial Breakdown web series. The performance came during Taylor’s week-long residency on the program earlier this month.

James Taylor’s Late Show residency was the second in a series of week-long sit-ins that also saw St. Vincent and Joe Walsh filling in for bandleader Jon Batiste, who recently announced his departure from the show.

Batiste’s Stay Human is newly renamed The Late Show Band, led by Louis Cato. During Taylor’s residency, Louis Cato and The Late Show Band backed him up on the Marvin Gaye-recorded “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” penned by renowned Motown songwriting team Holland–Dozier–Holland. Taylor had a hit with the song in 1975 and included it on his album, Gorilla.
