In a last minute announcement, Lettuce / Trey Anastasio sax man James Casey has revealed he will lead a special late night New Year’s Eve show at the famed Blue Note in New York City tomorrow night.

Dubbed the “Revive NYE Bash,” Casey will be joined by guitarist Randy Runyon, Jack White’s drummer Daru Jones, and Casey’s bandmate in Animus Rexx (formerly known as “James Casey’s Eclectic Collective”), Yuki Hirano, aka “Big Yuki”, who is also Talib Kweli’s keyboardist.

Casey has known the musicians for years dating back to his days at Berklee College of Music, but the quartet has never before performed with this specific lineup.

“It’s like an amalgamation from my and Yuki’s groups,” Casey said in a statement announcing the show. “We’ll play some originals from both of our bands, and each singer will throw a few of theirs into the mix –but after that, we go off into oblivion.”

Casey’s Blue Note bash is set to start around 1:30-2 a.m. leaving plenty of time for folks attending other shows that night to attend the late night fiesta. The performance will run until at least 4am. Tickets are available via the Blue Note’s website.
