A concert honoring the memory of saxophonist James Casey will be held at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City next month. The event dubbed “A Party To Celebrate The Life And Music Of James Casey” will take place on Monday, November 6.

Casey, a longtime member of the Trey Anastasio Band, sadly died at age 40 on August 28, 2023 after a two-year battle with colon cancer. The upcoming memorial concert will be presented as a party in keeping with Casey’s wishes. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert bandleader Louis Cato will curate musical performances and Radar Ellis will spin a collection of songs James loved throughout the event. “Casey had a unique ability to bridge a wide range of musical worlds and artists, and they’ll all be represented onstage,” as per a press release announcing the memorial concert.
