Jam Cruise 13 | Jam Room Hosts, Activities & Piano Sets

One of our favorite parts of Jam Cruise each year is the Jam Room, where musicians aboard the boat gather in an intimate setting for impromptu jams that last until dawn. We’ve seen so many magical moments in the Jam Room over the years and look forward to have the musicians have in store for Jam Cruise 13, which departs Miami on January 6 aboard the MSC Divina.

In recent years Jam Cruise organizers Cloud 9 Adventures have arranged for Jam Room hosts each evening. Today, Cloud 9 has revealed the hosts for Jam Cruise 13: Pretty Lights mastermind Derek Vincent Smith, bassist George Porter Jr., keyboardist Robert Walter, lap steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier and drummer Nikki Glaspie. Speaking of Pretty Lights, the live band for the group’s Jam Cruise 13 performance will consist of Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch, Eric “Benny” Bloom, Boraham Lee, Brian Coogan and Scott Flynn.

We’re also huge fans of the Piano Sets aboard Jam Cruise. Each night a keyboardist will treat fans who’ve gathered around the grand piano inside the ship’s atrium to a special performance unlike any other on land or at sea. Come January, Ivan Neville, Ike Stubblefield, Nigel Hall, John “Papa” Gros and Joel Cummins will perform Piano Sets aboard Jam Cruise 13.

Finally, over the years we’ve partook in many incredible activities with the musicians of Jam Cruise such as the always fun Picking Party, Marco Polo with Marco Benevento, a workshop featuring Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood and Rock Star Karaoke. Some of the Jam Cruise 13 activities have been announced and they include Pickin’ Party with Tim Carbone, Anders Beck, Paul Hoffman, Fruition and Elephant Revival, Door Decorating Contest Judged by Kung Fu, The Ivan Neville Texas Hold ‘em Tournament and Center your Qi with Karl D.

Jam Cruise 13 features an impressive array of jam scene favorites including Umphrey’s McGee, Pretty Lights with his live band, The Word, Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Lettuce, Snarky Puppy, The Revivalists and many more.
