Founding The Allman Brothers Band drummer Jaimoe will take the stage with Friends of The Brothers this Saturday, April 27 in Fairfield, Connecticut. Friends Of The Brothers will present a tribute to Dickey Betts at the Sacred Heart University Community Theater.

Dickey Betts died at age 80 last week leaving Jaimoe as the sole surviving original member of The Allman Brothers Band. ‘I enjoyed playing music with Richard for 50 years,” the 79-year-old drummer said in a statement. “We got to send the old boy off right. Rest in peace to my old friend.”

Friends Of The Brothers features guitarist/singer Junior Mack, who helmed Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band for well over a decade. Other members include ABB biographer Alan Paul and longtime Dickey Betts & Great Southern member Andy Aledort. Jaimoe last took the stage back in January 2023.

“We started this band in the shadow of Gregg Allman and Butch Trucks’ 2017 passings to honor their memories and celebrate the music of the Allman Brothers Band, which has been central to all of our lives,” explained Alan Paul. “We love Jaimoe as a person and as a musician and are beyond excited to have him join us for what will be a very special night honoring the music and legacy we care so much about.”
