Jackie Greene Has Quit Trigger Hippy
By Scott Bernstein Jul 26, 2015 • 1:00 pm PDT

As pointed out by Jambands.com Trigger Hippy formed in 2009, though Jackie wasn’t in the original incarnation. Greene has been part of the band since shortly after its debut in Georgia with Jimmy Herring and Audley Freed on guitars. Jackie was joined in the band for the majority of his tenure by Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman, vocalist Joan Osborne, bassist Nick Govrik and guitarist Tom Bukovac. Axeman Guthrie Trapp recently joined Trigger Hippy for their summer tour as Bukovac departed “to purse other opportunities.”
Here’s the full statement from Jackie Greene’s Facebook page:
It’s been a great pleasure playing with a Trigger Hippy the past few years, but I must call it quits. My first album in five years is right around the corner and I must focus my attention on that. I am no longer a member of Trigger Hippy. I will not be at the Full Tilt Boogie Festival in VT, but I’m sure it will be a great time and I sincerely hope everyone enjoys themselves. Thanks to all who came out and supported us over the past few years, we really appreciate it.
Trigger Hippy has yet to issue a statement about the news. The band currently has one concert on its schedule -The Full Tilt Boogie in Vermont on August 22.
