Jack White Joins Ringo Starr For Beatles Classic At Bourbon & Beyond

Ringo Starr delivered a set at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday. The aptly named All-Starr Band gained a rock star in the form of Jack White who joined for The Beatles classic “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

Ringo launched the set with his solo standout “It Don’t Come Easy.” With The All-Starr Band including members of Toto (Steve Lukather), Men at Work (Colin Hay) and Average White Band (Hamish Stuart) the group touched on classics from those catalogs including Toto’s “Rosanna” and “Hold the Line” as well as Men At Work’s “Land Down Under” and Average White Band’s “Pick Up the Pieces.”

Ringo also led the way on The Shirelles‘ “Boys,” a staple cover for The Beatles, “Yellow Submarine,” solo cut “Photograph” and “Octopus’s Garden.” Following the latter, Jack White emerged to help out on “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

Jack reprised his role performing with Ringo after joining The Beatles legend for the latter’s Ringo & Friends At The Ryman TV special. White sat-in with Ringo for a rendition of the Carl Perkins classic, “Matchbox,” a favorite of the Fab Four.

At Bourbon & Beyond, Jack added to a chorus of voices singing John Lennon and Paul McCartney‘s part on the second song off The Beatles’ groundbreaking 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. White’s current bandmates Patrick Keeler, Bobby Emmett and Dominic Davis joined in as well alongside an appearance from singer-songwriter Sammy Rae.
