Hawaiian folk-rocker Jack Johnson will issue a new album, All The Light Above It Too, on September 8 via his Brushfire Records imprint. Today, Johnson has unveiled the anti-Trump first single from the LP, “My Mind Is For Sale,” and extended his U.S. tour with a short run of late September and early October dates.

All The Light Above It Too is Jack Johnson’s first new studio album since From Here to Now To You, which came out in 2013. Johnson played most of the instruments himself when he recorded the LP at Mango Tree Studio and then enlisted his longtime band mates and producer Robbie Lackritz to help finish the album.

“This album shares what has been on my mind during the past year or so,” Johnson told Rolling Stone which broke the news about the LP and premiered the video. “A year in which I sailed through the North Atlantic Gyre for a documentary about plastic pollution in the ocean. A year in which Trump was elected as the President of the United States. A year in which I camped, surfed, got stitches, explored, dreamed, shared time and endless conversations with my family and friends … all of which inspired these songs. I usually make sketches of the songs first then set up a time to actually record the album. This time around the original sketches became the final versions. I didn’t want to lose any of the spirit that a song has in its rawest form.”

“My Mind is For Sale” takes aim at President Trump’s plan to erect a wall along the U.S./Mexico border. He created the lyric video for the tune with the help of his kids using blocks with the song’s lyrics written on them. Jack sets the blocks up to form a wall and then kicks them down.

Jack Johnson has added eight dates featuring support from Bahamas to his current North American tour. The new run begins at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on September 27. From there, Jack Johnson brings the run to Charlotte on September 28, Raleigh on September 29 and Atlanta on September 30. Jack ends the tour with a swing through Florida that includes two shows in St. Augustine on October 2 and 3 as well as stops in Tampa on October 4 and West Palm Beach on October 5.
