Huichica East Replaces Circles Around The Sun With Grateful Shred

As reported, Circles Around The Sun canceled a brief tour that was scheduled to start tonight and end with an appearance at the Huichica East music festival on Sunday. Organizers of Huichica East, a.k.a. Huichica Music Festival: Hudson, announced Grateful Shred will replace CATS on the lineup. Huichica East runs from Friday through Sunday at Chaseholm Farm in Pine Plains, New York.

Grateful Dead tribute act Grateful Shred features Austin McCutchen, Sam Blasucci, Clay Finch and Dan Horne. The quartet will perform two sets on Sunday with Mapache (Blasucci and Finch) playing an added set on closing day as well. Mercuy Rev & Friends, Garth & Sister Maud Hudson, Ryley Walker, Vetiver and Allah-Las are among the other acts aboard for this weekend’s festival.

“For health reasons Circles Around The Sun have to cancel their East Coast tour including their two sets at Huichica East this Sunday afternoon,” said (((folkYEAH!))) Presents founder and festival organizer Britt Govea in a statement. “Grateful Shred will fly in from the west coast and play two sets of classic Grateful Dead tunes. We could not be more excited to host them in Hudson Valley hot on the heels of their sold out East Coast tour, plus a bonus set by Mapache too – so more bliss! We love CATS and wish them a swift bounce back and we will see them in Half Moon Bay, California in late September.”
