Psychedelic quartet Circles Around The Sun were supposed to begin a run of five shows in five nights this evening. CATS canceled the brief tour “due to an urgent health matter” according to a statement from the band.

Guitarist Neal Casal, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, drummer Mark Levy and bassist Dan Horne were slated to kick off the tour at Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey tonight. Circles Around The Sun were then scheduled to play Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on Thursday, The Ardmore Music Hall near Philadelphia on Friday, Higher Ground in Burlington on Saturday and at Huichicha Hudson on Sunday. The quartet aims to reschedule the shows for early 2019. Information on refunds is forthcoming.

Read a note posted by the band on Facebook:

“Due to an urgent health matter, we unfortunately have to cancel our upcoming August 22-26 tour dates. We are working on rescheduling these for early next year and will have more information soon. We’re so sorry to all of you who had planned to come to these shows and will let you know as soon as possible about ticket refunds or holding onto your tickets for the rescheduled shows. Thanks to everyone in advance for understanding.” – CATS
