Hermanos Gutiérrez will support their newly announced album, Los Ojos Del Cóndor, out September 25 on Easy Eye Sound, with a fall tour spanning North America and Europe. Produced by Dan Auerbach, the 10-track set is set to arrive on September 25 via Easy Eye Records.
Hermanos Gutiérrez — siblings Estevan and Alejandro Gutiérrez — assembled with Auerbach to record the album at his Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville. The duo named Los Ojos Del Cóndor for the bird found on the flag for their mother’s native Ecuador.
“The condor is the bird of the Andes,” said Alejandro. “It’s like seeing something from that perspective and appreciating the beauty.”
Hermanos Gutiérrez have mixed the sounds of Latin America with western flourishes over the course of a decade and six albums. The brothers focused on more of the latter for their forthcoming LP, pulling tones from Ecuador and their great-grandmother’s Peruvian heritage as well as Argentinean milonga and Peruvian-Colombian cumbia.
“This is a love letter to South America,” added Alejandro. “What we want to do with this record is to invite people to come on another journey with us, this time through the Andes and to create a curiosity for this culture and for this part of the world.”
The North American leg opens September 24 in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada), moving through the Pacific Northwest before reaching Denver and the Southwest, with stops in Albuquerque (New Mexico) and Phoenix. The run continues with several previously announced dates alongside Jack Johnson, including shows in George (Washington), Woodinville (Washington), Chula Vista (California) and two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
The European leg begins November 13 in Gdańsk (Poland) and winds through Germany, Belgium, France and the U.K. before concluding with back-to-back nights in Zurich (Switzerland) on December 20 and 21.

Out today in advance of Los Ojos Del Cóndor is “Canto Andino,” the cinematic lead single from the album, and an accompanying video. “That melody you hear in the chorus, that’s very happy and then it turns back into the dark, low tones of the slide,” noted Alejandro. “It’s cool because that’s actually how the weather works in the Andes. You’ve got sunshine and then all of a sudden it’s so cloudy and looks like it might rain or even snow. ‘Canto Andino’ is a calling from that landscape that inspired us.”
