Halsey Gets ‘Starry Eyed’ With Ellie Goulding In London

Halsey completed a three-show run at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Wednesday night, which also capped the European leg of the Back To Badlands Tour. Halsey surprised fans by bringing out Ellie Goulding as part of the concert’s encore.

The Back To Badlands Tour recognizes the 10th anniversary of Halsey’s debut album, Badlands. The show centered around songs from the record (and its expanded deluxe edition), with selections from Halsey’s other albums interspersed.

The setlist contained Halsey’s collaboration with The Chainsmokers, “Closer.” The tour’s prior guest singer, Julia Wolf, once again appeared with Halsey to perform the former’s “In My Room.”

Halsey saved Goulding’s guest spot for near the end of the show. Before bringing her onto the stage, Halsey introduced Goulding, stating:

“Part of this tour and part of what I’ve been doing here is going back 10 years to celebrate this album that we all love so much, but in the process, getting the opportunity to rediscover the artists and the friends who made that time possible. Whether it was because they championed me, they collaborated with me, or they just may be someone to look up to – and by god did I need someone to look up to.

“There’s one person in particular that I’m so excited to have here tonight. She is an absolute trailblazer in this industry, and she’s someone that I’m so, so lucky to have right beside me as a peer. And I’m just a really, really big fucking fan.”

Halsey then asked Goulding if she wanted to dance before they performed “Starry Eyed” together. The song appeared on Goulding’s 2010 debut album, Lights.

Near the end of “Starry Eyed,” Halsey noted Goulding, who is pregnant, could not jump and asked the crowd to do it for the special guest.
