Torrential rainstorms tore through Vermont on Monday leaving catastrophic flooding and property damage behind. Guster will take the stage tomorrow, Thursday, July 13 at The Green at Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont for what has now become a fundraiser for the Vermont Flood Response & Recovery Fund.

Half of Guster resides in Vermont including frontman Ryan Miller. The band will be joined in Shelburne by another Vermont institution, Bread And Puppet. “This has been a truly heartbreaking event for so many of our friends and neighbors here in Vermont,” explained Miller. “But seeing how our communities come together to support one another is beyond inspiring. I have never been more proud to call Vermont home and it will be an honor to stand alongside our neighbors in our efforts to rebuild.”

A portion of proceeds from Thursday’s concert will go towards the Vermont Flood Response & Recovery Fund. Vermont Community Foundation CEO Dan Smith founded the fund to help those in The Green Mountain State rebuild. “One of the defining truths about Vermont is that Vermonters look out for one another,” added Smith. “We saw it during the pandemic; we saw it during Tropical Storm Irene. As we watch the updates come in from across the state today, we see it again. Emergency responders, public safety officers, federal and state agencies, businesses, and volunteers coming together to manage a major crisis as it unfolds.”
