Guns N’ Roses continued the Asian leg of their Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things Tour with a concert at K-Arena Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan. Bassist Duff McKagan sang lead on GNR’s debut cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Thunder And Lightning.”
“Welcome To The Jungle” once again launched the start of the K-Arena concert on Monday. Frontman Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, McKagan and recently added touring drummer Isaac Carpenter pulled out a few tour debuts across the rest of the career-spanning setlist, adding into the mix “You Could Be Mine,” “Don’t Cry,” “Hard Skool,” and during the encore, “Absurd” and “Madagascar.”
Introduced by Rose as “the honorable Duff McKagan,” the bassist’s turn fronting the veteran rock band came in the middle of the concert. “Thunder And Lightning” served as the title track to Thin Lizzy’s final album, which the Irish rock group released in 1983.
