Guerilla Toss Shares ‘Red Flag To Angry Bull’ Single Featuring Trey Anastasio & Stephen Malkmus

New York City-based band Guerilla Toss shared a new single, “Red Flag to Angry Bull,” featuring Trey Anastasio and Stephen Malkmus. The track is set to land on the band’s newly announced, Malkmus-produced album You’re Weird Now, arriving September 12 through Sub Pop Records.

Pavement guitarist Stephen Malkmus and Guerilla Toss — frontwoman Kassie Carlson, guitarist Arian Shafiee, drummer Peter Negroponte, keyboardist Jake Lichter and bassist Zach Lewellyn — captured You’re Weird Now at Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio’s The Barn recording facility in Westford, Vermont.

Guerilla Toss previously shared the You’re Weird Now single “Psychosis Is Just A Number” and now follow with “Red Flag to Angry Bull,” featuring Trey and Stephen on vocals with Anastasio also adding guitar.

“Red Flag is probably our most bizarre endeavor yet: a ‘We Are the World’ style hot-boxed-dad-rock ballad, featuring heroes Trey and Steve,” the band shared of the new single. “Missing Persons meets Magical Mystery Tour meets 1997 and your AIM screen name is pAvementpHish420.”

The track also sees contributions from backing vocalists Christie Offenbacher, Jonny Kosmo, Steve DeFreitas, Willie Dantzler and Neal Hitch as well as Sam Lisabeth on acoustic guitar. Check out the animated visualizer for “Red Flag to Angry Bull” below:
