Grinderman

After a one off London show on June 20th with NYC punk legends Suicide and blues man Seasick Steve, Nick Cave brings his fierce new rock quartet Grinderman to the States for a handful of performances. With a sound that draws heavily from hallucinatory deep blues as well as Cave’s punk roots in The Birthday Party, Grinderman is a much different animal than Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. He is joined by fellow Bad Seeds Martyn Casey on bass, Warren Ellis on violin and guitar and Jim Sclavunos on drums. Grinderman’s eponymous debut was recently nominated for MOJO magazine’s Best Album Award, where readers called it an “instant classic.”

After opening for The White Stripes at Madison Square Garden on July 24th they will headline shows in Chicago and San Francisco.
