Grimes Shares ‘Violence’ Video

Grimes, aka Claire Boucher, unveiled the video for her single, “Violence.” The song is a preview of the forthcoming Miss_Anthropocene, the long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s Art Angels.
Boucher teamed up with EDM producer I_o for “Violence” and directed the video herself. “So, I actually finished my album a long time ago and I started working on my new album, which is a techno pop. I was like, ‘Man, I’ve produced five albums. I just want to make an album in a month that I just work with my favorite producers,'” Grimes told Zane Lowe/Apple Music’s Beats 1 of what led to her working with I_o. “And I hit I_o up and we made this song up in an hour. And then I was just like, ‘This must go on the album because it just feels good.’ And, you know what, you know what? It’s just fresh.”
A release date for Miss_Anthropocene has not been announced as of press time. Watch the “Violence” video below:
