Watch Greta Van Fleet Cover Neil Young With Hannah Wicklund & Mt. Joy In Glasgow

Greta Van Fleet’s Starcatcher World Tour came to Glasgow, Scotland’s OVO Hydro on Monday. The rockers welcomed support acts Hannah Wicklund and Mt. Joy for a cover of Neil Young’s “Don’t Let It Bring You Down.”

The collaboration kicked off Greta Van Fleet’s encore in Glasgow.

“We’ve got a very unique musical happening for you tonight,” GVF frontman Josh Kiszka addressed the crowd ahead of the collab. “We’ve put together a little something that think is going to be hopefully not a trainwreck but a wonderful experience — I’m kidding of course it’s going to be wonderful. We’re going to a collective, a collaboration. We’ve a very well written song that we’d like to share with you.”

Josh then introduced openers Hannah Wicklund and Mt. Joy before beginning Neil Young’s “Don’t Let It Bring You Down.” The song appears on Neil Young’s landmark 1970 album, After the Gold Rush. According to SetlistFM stats, the “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” performance was the first during a Greta Van Fleet concert.

Josh Kiszka handled the first verse on the After the Gold Rush cut before Mt. Joy frontman Matt Quinn took the second, battling through some technical difficulties with his microphone. Wicklund would deliver a shreddy solo and trade riffage with GVF guitarist Jake Kiszka. Check out the performance below:

Greta Van Fleet kicked off their concert with “The Falling Sky” off their 2023 album Starcatcher. The band naturally leaned heavily on their latest LP also performing “Meeting The Master,” “Sacred The Thread” and more. Additional favorites from GVF’s catalog included “Highway Tune” and “Light My Love” with the latter closing out the concert in Glasgow.

The Starcatcher World Tour continues on Sunday in Denmark.
