As previously reported Gregg Allman and the swapped sit-ins at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, North Carolina on Tuesday night. The biggest surprise of the short run of co-bills took place during the Doobies set when Allman sang former Doobie Brothers’ keyboardist/vocalist Michael McDonald’s part of the 1976 hit “Takin’ It To The Streets.” The first fan-shot video of the guest spot has emerged.

Watch Gregg Allman lead the Doobie Brothers through “Takin’ It To The Streets” thanks to Walt Smith:

Later in the evening the Doobie Brothers’ Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston returned the favor by joining the Gregg Allman Band for a rendition of “One Way Out.” The run of co-bills continued last night in Baltimore, where Simmons and John McFee helped out on “Southbound” as Gregg’s encore. Tomorrow night the two acts conclude the run at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, New York.
