Last month legendary rocker Gregg Allman gave fans a scare when he canceled all dates through late October due to “serious health issues.” We’re happy to report that Gregg is on the mend and will return to action earlier than expected.

Gregg Allman will play a special acoustic set at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on September 25 after being given a clean bill of health from his doctors. The set with lead guitarist and musical director Scott Sharrard is part of Gregg Allman’s Laid Back Fest at Red Rocks and is expected to be his only set until he resumes touring at the end of October. ZZ Top, Richie Furay Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Gabriel Kelley, Lucie Silvas, Levon and People’s Blues Of Richmond round out the lineup for the Red Rocks installment of Gregg Allman’s Laid Back Fest.

“I just can’t wait to get back out there,” said Allman. “I’ve gotten so stir crazy these last few weeks. I feel best when I’m traveling and playing. That’s what keeps me going, and there’s no better place to start than Red Rocks.” Tickets are on sale now via AXS.com.
