Greensky Bluegrass Join Willie Nelson In Camden

The second leg of the Outlaw Music Festival rolled on last night as the multi-band touring festival pulled into Camden, New Jersey. On Saturday the bill, which features a core set of bands with other acts rotating in and out, featured performances from Particle Kid, Lukas Nelson & The Promise Of The Real, Greensky Bluegrass, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Van Morrison and Willie Nelson.
Nelson, who is serving as the fest’s headliner, had some guests familiar to the jam scene join him during the evening’s final song. The country music icon delivered a 15-song set that saw him mix some of his best-known material with a healthy dose of classic country covers. The Red Headed Stranger served up the likes of “Whiskey River,” “On The Road Again,” “Mama Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys,” “Good Hearted Woman” and “Georgia On My Mind.” For the night’s finale, Willie was joined by the members of Greenksy Bluegrass for an extended take on “I’ll Fly Away.” The jamgrass act, who donned red bandanas as a nod to Nelson’s signature look, provided backing vocals on the traditional song to close out the show.
