Greensky Bluegrass wrapped up their first run of 2021 at The Woodlands Nature Preserve in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday. The concert featured a slew of GSBG favorites along with covers from Pink Floyd, The Allman Brothers Band and more.
Greensky Bluegrass — mandolinist Paul Hoffman, guitarist Dave Bruzza, banjoist Michael Bont, bassist Mike Devol and dobro player Anders Beck — kicked off the show with a pair of tunes, “Past My Prime” and “Take Cover,” from their 2016 album, Shouted, Written Down & Quoted. After the vintage staple “Bottle Dry,” the quintet launched into a seamless run with the Flatt & Scruggs popularized “Doin’ My Time” which headed into “Dry Country” ahead of the band’s classic bluegrass cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time” and “Breathe Reprise” before returning to “Doin’ My Time.” Next, “I’d Probably Kill You” and “Cold Feet” came ahead of the first set closer, the title track to GSBG’s 2019 album, All For Money.

“Hold On” got the second set underway and led into The Traveling Wilburys’ “Handle With Care.” “Ashes” and “Murder of Crows” came next ahead of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.” The stellar staple “Burn Them” followed before “Fixin’ To Ruin” and “Blood Sucking F(r)iends.” “Leap Year” would bring the second frame to a close. For the encore, Greesnsky Bluegrass delivered “Before Bring Out Your Dead” and “Bring Out Your Dead” to conclude their first run of 2021.
