The Grateful Dead vault has been opened once again for this week’s installment of the All The Years Live video series. This week’s clip features Jerry Garcia leading his mates through “Morning Dew” at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California on October 1, 1988.

Canadian artist Bonnie Dobson wrote “Morning Dew,” a post-apocalyptic tale, and originally released a solo acoustic take on the 1962 live album, Bonnie Dobson At Folk City. The Grateful Dead debuted their version at 1967’s Human Be-In and included “Morning Dew” on their self-titled debut album later in the year. Garcia and company played the song 268 times through June 21, 1995 as per Setlist.FM.

“From the middle night of the Grateful Dead’s second run of shows at Shoreline Amphitheatre, this ‘Morning Dew’ occupies a somewhat usual placement for this era for this Jerry-sung standout, as a second set closer,” GD archivist David Lemieux wrote in a note accompanying the video. “This was one of 13 performances of Morning Dew in 1988, the final year Dew was performed into double digits.”
