Grateful Dead Announces ‘Dave’s Picks Volume 16’

The next installment of the Grateful Dead’s long-running Dave’s Picks series of live archival releases has been announced. Dave’s Picks Volume 16 will feature the band’s March 28, 1973 performance at the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The new release is currently available for pre-order and is expected to ship on November 1.

The three-disc set is limited to 16,500 individually numbered copies. Jeffrey Norman mastered the original recording to HDCD specifically for this release. Included within is a standout, 31-minute “Dark Star” > “Eyes Of The World” > “Playing In The Band” segment that ended the second set, a rare “Cumberland Blues” opener and many tunes which were just added to the band’s repertoire.
