51st Annual Grammy Awards

Plant/Krauss
The 51st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony offered a few musical treats mixed in with the regular bunch of not-so-inspiring collaborations. What stood out was a pretty good kick-off from U2 doing “Get on Your Boots”, a decent showing of Coldplay with Jay-Z doing an acoustic “Lost”, Kanye and Estelle doing their huge hit “American Boy,” a solid reading of “15 Steps” with tons of horns and drums courtesy of the USC Trojan Marching Band with Radiohead, a super-pregnant M.I.A. taking part in the very impressive “Swagga Like Us” with Kanye West, Jay, T.I. and Lil’ Wayne. But in the end, it was all about who took home the lil gold guy.
