Grahame Lesh Recruits Longtime Phil Lesh Friends For 3rd ‘Unbroken Chain’ Concert

Guitarist/vocalist Grahame Lesh will host a third “Unbroken Chain: A Celebration Of The Life And Music Of Phil Lesh” show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on March 16 following a pair of previously announced concerts. The Sunday night performance in honor of Grahame’s father, Phil Lesh, will find him joined by several musicians who regularly toured with the Grateful Dead bassist in the late-2000s.

Guitarist Jackie Greene, multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell, vocalist Teresa Williams, drummer John Molo and keyboardist Steve Molitz will accompany Grahame Lesh at The Cap on March 16. More special guests are to be announced. A bassist for the new show has not been named.

Phil Lesh performed with a variety of Phil Lesh & Friends outfits from 1998 through the summer of 2000 before settling in on “The Q” lineup of Molo, Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring and Rob Barraco through 2003. After a few tours with The Dead, the bassist returned to the rotating formations of his band. Then, Phil hit the road with Greene, Campbell, Molo and Molitz in 2007 and 2008. Teresa Williams, Campbell’s wife, sat-in on occasion and will be part of the Unbroken Chain ensemble on Sunday, March 16.

Tickets for the newly announced “Unbroken Chain” concert go on sale tomorrow, February 7 at 10 a.m. ET. Proceeds from all three shows will benefit MusiCares and Undue Medical Debt.

Grahame Lesh & Friends’ “Unbroken Chain” performances commemorate what would have been Phil’s 85th birthday. Tickets for shows on March 14 and 15 are sold out. Grahame’s band for the first two nights will find him joined by guitarists Eric Krasno and Rick Mitarotonda (Goose), bassist Oteil Burbridge, multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby, drummer John Molo and trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick.
