Grahame Lesh will hit the road with both his Grahame Lesh & Friends and Midnight North projects this spring. “Both bands are my branches & leaves on the great oak tree that my family uses to describe the extended Grateful Dead world,” the son of late GD bassist Phil Lesh explained of the dual tour announcement.
Midnight North performances have been few and far between over the past few years due to health issues and the birth of band members’ babies. The quintet will get back at it in early April with three shows across the extended Bay Area and a late May swing through Southern California.
A Grahame Lesh & Friends lineup that features Grahame joined by Damian Calcagne, Justin Mazer, Nathan Graham, Brian Rashap and Elliott Peck will embark on a four-show tour of the Northeast from May 7 – 10. The brief excursion hits Brooklyn Bowl in New York City, the Ardmore Music Hall near Philadelphia, Boston area venue the Regent Theatre and Stage One at FTC in Fairfield, Connecticut.
“Expect Grateful Dead classics of course, but we also love highlighting my dad’s more forgotten Dead compositions, playing the PLQ music and my brother Brian’s songs, debuting music that my dad, brother, & I wrote together (much of which has still not seen the light of day…stay tuned…), and more,” Grahame wrote of the GL&F shows.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
